Punjab Police foils major arms smuggling plot, Recovers glock pistols linked to Pakistan

Amritsar, August 26: Amritsar Commissionerate Police has achieved success against arms smugglers who are plotting to disturb peace and harmony in Punjab. Police has arrested Amit Singh, resident of Guru Ki Vadali Cheharta and recovered a large quantity of international weapons from him. This action has proved helpful in averting a possible major incident in the state.

5 Glock pistols, 4 magazines and a motorcycle have been recovered from the arrested accused. All these weapons were smuggled into Punjab and were planned to be used for criminal activities and creating unrest.

Wires connected to Pakistan

Initial investigation has revealed some shocking things. Accused Amit Singh along with his partner Gurpreet Singh alias Ginni was in contact with arms smugglers based in Pakistan. This gang was sending consignments of arms from across the border to Punjab. Police say that the aim of this network was to disrupt peace in the state by providing arms to gangsters and anti-social elements.

Major incident averted, investigation continues

The arrest of Amit Singh and the recovery of weapons have helped the police unravel the entire smuggling network. Officials say that if this action had not been taken in time, a major criminal or terrorist incident could have occurred in the state.

Smuggling into India through ISI

According to sources, the role of Pakistani intelligence agency ISI has also come to light in the smuggling of this pistol. It is being said that Glock pistols are being delivered to gangsters active in Punjab with the help of terrorist organizations via Pakistan and Afghanistan.
