Punjab Infrastructure Push: 45,000 km Roads Targeted for Completion by June 30

Punjab: Under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Punjab’s road infrastructure development continues at a fast pace, with the state government setting an ambitious target to strengthen connectivity across rural and urban areas.

Cabinet Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that the government is working on a large-scale plan to upgrade and construct roads across the state without delays.

Target of 45,000 km Roads by June 30

The state has set a target to complete the construction of approximately 45,000 km of roads by June 30. According to the minister, this timeline has been fixed to ensure that infrastructure work is completed before the monsoon season begins, reducing the risk of damage and delays.

Inspection of Hot Mix Plant

As part of the ongoing review, Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO visited a batch hot mix plant to inspect the ongoing operations and production capacity. The plant has a daily capacity of around 800 tons.

The minister also noted that nearly 100 such plants are currently operational across Punjab, supporting the large-scale road construction drive.

Instructions for Faster Execution

During the inspection, the minister directed officials to start plant operations early in the morning to speed up construction activities. He emphasized that timely execution is crucial to meeting the state’s infrastructure goals before the onset of the monsoon.

The Punjab government has reiterated its commitment to improving road connectivity and ensuring that construction work is completed within the set deadline. Officials have been instructed to maintain efficiency and avoid delays in project execution.
