    Punjab Weather Update: Heavy rain warning for next 48 hours, Rain alert for 21 districts

    Despite the arrival of monsoon in Punjab, the pace of rain is very low. Humidity and heat have increased the uneasiness of the residents. On Tuesday, the maximum temperature of the state increased by 1.3 degrees Celsius. The highest temperature in the state was recorded in Faridkot at 42.4 degrees Celsius.

    The Meteorological Center, Chandigarh, has issued a yellow alert for heavy rain today and July 9, describing the next 48 hours as crucial. Rain is likely to fall in 21 districts of Punjab today. Let us tell you that heavy rain may fall in Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Fatehgarh Sahib, Rupnagar and Mohali one by one.

    Apart from this, light to moderate rain is likely at many places in Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana, Barnala, Sangrur and Patiala, and one by one in Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Fazilka, Faridkot, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Moga and Bathinda. The sky will remain cloudy. Power demand reaches 15,000 MW

    On the other hand, due to extreme heat in Punjab, the power demand was recorded at 15,003 MW on Tuesday. During this period, the state’s own power generation was 4,673 MW, while 10,578 MW was allocated from the central pool. The grid frequency was recorded at 50.05 Hz.
