Yellow Alert Issued for Parts of Punjab as Light Rain Expected Today; Monsoon to Revive from August 14

Amritsar, August 10: There is a possibility of rain in many areas of Punjab today (August 10). The Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding this. However, its maximum effect will be seen only in the adjoining districts of Himachal Pradesh. Light rain occurred in only a few districts yesterday. After this, there has been a slight decrease in the average temperature of the state. After today, the next round of rain is expected to start from August 14.

According to the Meteorological Center Chandigarh, the maximum temperature today recorded a drop of 1.6 degrees Celsius on average, although it is close to normal in the state. According to the Meteorological Department, the highest temperature in the state was recorded at 36.8 degrees Celsius, which was recorded in Abohar.

According to the Meteorological Department data, the maximum temperature was recorded at 33.1 degrees Celsius in Chandigarh, 35.4 degrees in Amritsar, 33.0 degrees in Ludhiana, 31.8 degrees in Patiala, 33.5 degrees in Gurdaspur and 36.6 degrees Celsius in Bathinda.

In the rain data, Ludhiana received 1.2 mm, Patiala 0.5 mm, Hoshiarpur 0.5 mm and other places received minor or no rainfall.

The weather will remain normal from 11 to 13 August

According to the warning issued by the Meteorological Department, a yellow alert has been issued on August 10 in view of the possibility of heavy rain in some northern and central districts of Punjab, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur, Nawanshahr, Rupnagar and Mohali. The weather is expected to remain normal in the entire state from August 11 to 13 and there is no warning for any district. At the same time, a yellow alert has been issued again in the state from August 14. That is, after remaining sluggish till August 14, the monsoon will be seen active again.
