The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday arrested the agent from Delhi who took lakhs of rupees in exchange for sending the youth to America via the Donkey Route and put them in danger. The accused is Gagandeep Singh alias Goldie, who is a resident of Tilak Nagar, Delhi. Staying in the national capital of the country, he was collecting lakhs of rupees by luring the youth to send them abroad.
The case is related to a person from the Tarn Taran district of Punjab, who was sent to America in December 2024 via the Donkey Route. The victim had given about Rs 45 lakh to the accused agent for this illegal journey. However, the US authorities deported him to India on February 15.
After returning to India, the victim had lodged a complaint against the accused. After which the Punjab Police registered a case and started investigation. In view of the incidents, the case was handed over to the NIA on March 13. After 17 days of action, the NIA arrested Goldie, who played the role of an agent in this case.
NIA is now trying to reach other members of this entire network by interrogating the accused.

He sent the victim to America via Spain, El Salvador, Guatemala, and Mexico. During the journey, Goldie’s companions beat up the victim, exploited him and snatched the US dollars he had.
