Amritsar: 2 Pakistani drones along with heroin recovered by BSF

As per protocol, BSF troops promptly tracked the movement of the drones and endeavoured to neutralize them.

Amritsar: On 29th May 2024, during the morning hours, vigilant BSF troops on duty intercepted the movement of drones at two different locations on the border area of district Amritsar.

A thorough search of the anticipated dropping zones resulted in following recoveries :-

1. 01 drone alongwith 01 packet (Gross weight- 550 Grams) of suspected heroin was recovered at about 05;48 am from the outskirt of village – Roranwala Khurd of district Amritsar.

The narcotics were wrapped in yellow coloured adhesive tape. 08 illumination strips and 01 nylon loop was also found attached with the packet.

2. 01 drone alongwith 01 packet (Gross weight- 540 Grams) of suspected heroin was recovered at about 09:55 am from the outskirts of village – Rattankhurd of district Amritsar.

The narcotics were wrapped in yellow coloured adhesive tape and 01 metal ring was found attached with the packet.

Both the recovered drones have been identified as China-made DJI Mavic 3 classic.

Keen observation and prompt reaction by the diligent BSF troops on duty once again proved their commitment to plug the entry of illicit drones carrying narcotics from across the border.
