Amritsar: Under mysterious circumstances, an ASI was found dead near Daburji Drain on Friday morning. The deceased ASI has been identified as Saroop Singh. Saroop Singh was posted at Nava Pind Police outpost of Amritsar.
Saroop Singh left his house at 9 pm and later after half an hour, his phone got switched off. The last call on his phone was from his family near about 9.30pm on Thursday. Police got to know about the incident when local residents informed police about a body lying on the road. Police has started its investigation and trying to ascertain the reason of the murder.
Police also said that body had been sent for postmortem. A bullet injury was also seen on the body of Saroop Singh.
