Amritsar: DC Ghanshyam Thori carries out surprise checking at Khasa Distillery Factory

He made it clear to the officials of the department that every single bottle coming out of here should be under watch and it should be ensured that no supply is done in violation of the rules of the department.

Amritsar: Deputy Commissioner cum District Election Officer Mr. Ghanshyam Thori conducted a surprise check of Khasa liquor factory today in view of the Lok Sabha elections and checked the stock of liquor.

The Deputy Commissioner stayed there for a long time and studied the entire system from brewing to exiting the factory. Meanwhile, he instructed the team of Flying Squad to check all the stocks and reconcile them with the bills, which continued till late evening.

   Mr. Ghanshyam Thori instructed the factory managers and officials of the Excise Department that the use of alcohol during the elections is more than usual and in such a situation, a close watch should be kept on the supply from the factory.

He made it clear to the officials of the department that every single bottle coming out of here should be under watch and it should be ensured that no supply is done in violation of the rules of the department.

  He said that this is the only liquor factory in district, from where liquor of different brands goes to the market, so it is necessary for the Excise Department to keep a 24-hour watch on this factory. He checked the Excise department’s control over liquor packaging, supply record, dispatch, packing, arrival of spirits and all this work. On this occasion, SDM Amritsar 2 Mr. Lal Viswash, AETC Mr. Sukhwinder Singh and officials of other departments were also present with him.DC
