From 9 pm to 12 am, more than 2 lakh devotees paid obeisance at Darbar Sahib.

Amritsar: Along with the residents of Guru Nagari, the Sangat from the country and abroad paid obeisance at Darbar Sahib in the year 2025. Devotees have been reaching Darbar Sahib Amritsar to pay obeisance since the morning of December 31. From 9 pm to 12 am, more than 2 lakh devotees paid obeisance at Darbar Sahib.

The congregation was so large that there was no space even to stand. Along with this, it is estimated that on the first day of the new year, about 3 lakh devotees can reach Darbar Sahib for darshan. The crowd started gathering at Harmandir Sahib at 9 pm itself. The crowd became so large that people had to struggle for the Parikrama of Darbar Sahib. Devotees were seen everywhere during the Parikrama.

While waiting for 12 pm, people were seen sitting wherever they found a place and chanting the name. During this, the Sangat continued to sit and recite Sri Sukhmani Sahib the entire time. As soon as the clock struck 12, more than 1 lakh devotees gathered in the Golden Temple and raised slogans of ‘Jo Bole So Nihal’.

According to estimates, more than 3 lakh devotees will reach the Golden Temple today to pay obeisance, but the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has made complete preparations for this. As soon as the doors of Sachkhand Sahib were closed inside Sri Darbar Sahib, the devotees started moving towards Langar Sahib. The crowd was so large that new rooms built behind the Langar Hall had to be opened.
