Amritsar: Acting on the information, the Customs AIU & Baggage staff of Sri Guru Ram Das Ji International Airport, Amritsar intercepted four pax (Passengers) coming from Malaysia by Air Asia flight No D -7188 on the Night of 26-27.04.2024.
On search of the pax Baggage, the bags were found to be containing Cigarettes of brand gold flake honey dew smooth.
In total of 565 Boxes (each containing 20×10=200 cigarettes) the total Cigarettes quantity of 1.13 lacs. The market value of the said goods is about Rs 19.21 lacs. The same were seized under section 110 of Custom Act, 1962.
Passengers were arrested and the goods were also seized by the customs department. Further investigation is in progress in the matter.
