Amritsar: In a major blow to the drug network as per the instructions of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and DGP Gaurav Yadav, the Commissionerate Police Amritsar has arrested 4 people involved in the drug smuggling racket. Along with this, 3 kg heroin, Rs 9 lakh drug money, and an Innova car have also been recovered.
Police Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar identified the arrested drug smugglers as Vikramjeet Singh alias Vicky, Rashpal Singh, Gaurav alias Kali and Sahil Kumar alias Manthan. He told that they used to supply heroin in different areas of Amritsar city. The police team has also seized an Innova car.
CP Bhullar said that further investigation is being conducted to probe the nexus of the case and expose the entire network of drug suppliers, dealers and their buyers. He said that efforts are being made to find out what is the total quantity of drugs purchased by the arrested accused so far. In this regard, case number 143 dated 10-12-2023 crime 21-C/27-A/29/61/85 NDPS Act, Police Station D Division, Amritsar has been registered.
