Amritsar: Punjab Police have been acting swiftly against the eradication of drugs. In action against it, Amritsar Police arrested notorious drug smuggler Lakhwinder alias Lakha. Police also recovered 5 kg heroin during the search.
The initial information about the same has been given by DGP Punjab Police Gaurav Yadav. In a post on X, he said that Lakha who was in touch with Pak based drug smuggler has been arrested.
In a major breakthrough against trans-border narcotic smuggling networks, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has arrested Lakhwinder @ Lakha who has been engaged in drug trafficking.
Lakha was in touch with a Pak-based drug smuggler. Police also recovered a total of 5 Kg Heroin from Khemkaran, Tarn Taran. Drones were used for the smuggling of narcotics.
The post further added that investigation is being carried out as per provisions of new criminal laws. Videography of search and seizure in presence of Gazetted Officer has been done as per provisions of new criminal laws.
