Amritsar Police bust International drug racket, 5 held with 3 kg heroin and drug money

During interrogation, it has come forth that this cartel was being run from Goindwal Sahib jail inmate, who was further in contact with Pakistan based narco suppliers namely Kala and Rana

Amritsar: Amidst the ongoing campaign launched against drugs as per directions of Hon’ble ECI and DGP Punjab, Amritsar Commissionerate Police has busted an Intl Drug Cartel, under supervision of CP Gurpreet Singh Bhullar IPS, DCP Investigation Harpreet Singh Mander PPS, ADCP Navjot Singh Sandhu and ACP Kuldeep Singh.

Team led by CIA-2 IC Insp Rajesh Sharma, apprehended accused Gagandeep @ Gagan, Harmandeep Singh @ Harman @ Happy and Charanjit Singh @ Charan near Miri Piri Academy, Basarke Bhaini road, Amritsar with 1.5 kg heroin and Rs 50,000 drug money, 0.32 bore pistol and 3 live cartridges in Bolero vehicle.

During interrogation, it has come forth that this cartel was being run from Goindwal Sahib jail inmate, who was further in contact with Pakistan based narco suppliers namely Kala and Rana. Accused Gagandeep Singh @ Gagan was in touch with the inmate, via whom drone droppings across the IB from Pakistan used to be coordinated.

Further investigation is on to establish all backward and forward linkages. All cross border and Indian associates involved in this cartel shall be probed into.
