Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal spends ‘Most’ in poll campaign

Virsa Singh Valtoha spent the least with amount ranging to 21 lakh 39 thousand 698.

Chandigarh: Lok Sabha elections are over and its been over month since the formation of new government. During these polls, Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal spent the most money during the campaign.

The candidate who spent the least was Virsa Valtoha. The second-highest spender is AAP’s Karamjit Anmol who contested from Faridkot but couldn’t win. The second lowest is Amansher Singh Kalsi.

As per reports, Harsimrat Kaur Badal spent the most 93 lakh 23,903 while Virsa Singh Valtoha spent the least with amount ranging to 21 lakh 39 thousand 698.

13 BJP candidates collectively spent 9 crore 87 lakh 66 thousand 749 rupees. BJP spent an average of Rs 75 lakh 97 thousand 442 on each candidate which is the highest. It was the first time that the BJP contested an election all alone without any coalition.

Congress spent an average of 70 lakhs 18 thousand 796. 65 lakh 22 thousand 187 rupees were spent on average on Aam Aadmi Party. 57 lakh 22 thousand 946 spent by Akali Dal.

Parneet Kaur received one crore 12 lakh for election fund
A candidate can spend up to Rs 95 lakh in his election. Parneet Kaur from Patiala received 1 crore 12 lakh for election fund. Parneet Kaur spent around 75 lakh 44 thousand and saved 36 lakh 55 thousand with herself. BJP gave 50 lakh rupees from party fund to each of its candidates.

Rana Sodhi got Rs 87 lakh 58 thousand fund
Candidate Rana Sodhi from Ferozepur received Rs 87 lakh 58 thousand funds, Rana Sodhi spent Rs 75 lakh, saved 12 lakh 57 thousand. Aam Aadmi Party and Congress Party did not give party funds to any of their candidates.

60 lakhs to Harsimrat Kaur Badal
The Shiromani Akali Dal gave party funds to only two candidates in which Harsimrat Kaur Badal was given Rs 60 lakh and Anil Joshi was given Rs 55 lakh.
