CM Mann attends special Women’s Day program at Khalsa College Amritsar

Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is in Amritsar today to attend a special event organized at Khalsa College for women in honour of International Women;s day. The program which will begin after 11:30am, will focus on women empowerment, education, and their significant contributions to society.

Amritsar: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is in Amritsar today. Here he is attending the special program of International Women’s Day organized at Khalsa College for Women today. After reaching Amritsar, the CM started the program by first answering the questions of the girl students.

A student asked the CM whether he lives like a Chief Minister at home as well. To which the CM laughed and said- this is worldly wisdom. Former US President Obama had also said that he is afraid of Michelle Obama. Women are the mother of the world, being afraid of them is a universal truth. 

The Aircare Centre at Khalsa College for Women in Amritsar was inaugurated by Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann. The centre is run by a 90% women-led team, which is a great example of women empowerment. On this occasion, innovations made on crop residue management and climate-smart agriculture were presented, which is an important step towards environmental protection and sustainable agriculture.

At the same time, he also informed the girl students about the job opportunities in future. The CM said that 51665 jobs have been given so far. Women should become lionesses, so fight for your rights.

In recognition of International Women’s day, the Punjab government has declared a reserved holiday for government employees. However, schools and colleges will remain open as usual. Government employees have the option to take leave in this special day.
