Amritsar: In order to eradicate drug menace from the state, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann is going to start first of its kind initiative named, ‘The Hope Initiative’. Through this initiative Amritsar police will conduct various activities on different levels to carter youth in a positive direction.
The campaign will be initiated by CM Mann at Shri Harimandir Sahib where along with him 35 thousand students and youth will participate and come together to make state drug free. In a post on X, he said “Creating a drug free society cannot be done without the participation of society… Today, we are going to start the drug-free Punjab campaign at Sri Amritsar Sahib, under which joint ‘prayer’ will be offered at Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib, in which around 35 thousand students and youth will participate… Let’s all come together to make Punjab drug free..”

Through this initiative, the administration aims make state drug free by Independence Day of next year. The Hope initiative will run for about 1 month and will end before Diwali. Through Hope initiative, NGOs and social communities will come together and will fight against the menace of drugs in state.
