Ludhiana:

After a long wait, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has announced its candidate for Ludhiana West assembly byelection on Saturday.

BJP has fielded its senior leader Jiwan Gupta. He is presently the core group member of Punjab BJP and had also served at the position of state General Secretary.

As of now in this multi-cornered contest for Ludhiana West seat for which bypolls are scheduled to be held on June 19, Aam Aadmi Party’s Rajya Sabha MP Sanjeev Arora, Congress’s former cabinet minister Bharat Bhushan Ashu and Shiromani Akali Dal’s Adv Parupkar Singh Ghuman had submitted their nominations.

The local BJP workers and supporters were upset as June 2 is last date of filing nomination and BJP had not announced the candidate. But now, with this announcement, the BJP workers have started gearing up for the bypolls.
