Amritsar: District Election Officer Shri Ghanshyam Thori has instructed the BLOs to collect forms from people who want to become voters for the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee elections in the special camps to be organized at their respective booths on 4th and 5th November to improve the voter list.

He said that as per the program issued by the Election Commission of India, based on the eligibility date of January 1, 2024, the preliminary publication of the photo voter list for the year 2024 has been done on October 27, 2023, at the places designated by the electoral registration officers. These lists are also available on the website of the Chief Electoral Officer, Punjab. Claims and objections regarding correction of voter lists are to be received by 9 December 2023.

BLOs will receive these claims and objections from 9 am to 5 pm on November 4, November 5, December 2 and December 3 at the allotted polling booths. Any citizen who is 18 years of age or older on January 1, 2024, can fill and submit form number 6 to cast his/her vote.

Forms to become a voter for the Sromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee can be submitted in the camps held at the booths on November 4 and 5.
