Amritsar: Giani Raghbir Singh, who was relieved from his duties following the orders of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC), once again reached Sri Akal Takht Sahib today. While talking to the media, he gave his first reaction after the events of the previous day.
The services of Jathedar Giani Raghbir Singh of Sri Akal Takht Sahib were terminated yesterday. He has been made the head Granthi of Harmandir Sahib. This decision was taken in the interim committee meeting of the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) on Friday. Apart from this, Jathedar Giani Sultan Singh of Takht Sri Kesgarh Sahib was also removed.
The responsibility of Sri Kesgarh Sahib is now with Giani Kuldeep Singh Gadgaj. He is also handling the additional charge of Sri Akal Takht Sahib. Giani Baba Tek Singh has been given the responsibility of Sri Damdama Sahib.
Giani Raghubir Singh has reacted to his termination of services as Jathedar Akal Takht Sahib. Talking to media this morning, he said that he had earlier also told media that it is upto blessings of almighty to take sewa. He said that he was thankful to almighty which has blessed him as Jathedar Akal Takht. He said that it is as per hukum of Guru Hargobind Sahib that he has served Akal Takht Sahib.
It is worth noting here that he didn’t reacted politically to the decision of SGPC Executive Committee to terminate his services.
