Chandigarh: The new Governor of Punjab and Administrator of Chandigarh Gulab Chand Kataria took oath of office at Raj Bhavan on Wednesday. Kataria was administered the oath by the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court. At this occasion, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya and former Governor VP Singh Badnore were also present. Punjab Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema touched the feet of Gulab Chand Kataria and took his blessings.
Earlier today in the morning Gulab Chand Kataria visited Shiv Temple to take blessings. He also visited a Gurudwara and paid obeisance before taking oath of office.
Who Is Gulabchand Kataria?
Gulab Chand Kataria is one of the senior leaders of BJP in Rajasthan and is also a member of the Central Working Committee of the party. He has been the Home Minister of the Rajasthan Government. Earlier, he has also been the Minister of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj. He was born on 13 October 1944 in Udaipur, Rajasthan. In 1977, Gulab Chand Kataria filed nomination for the first time from Udaipur Assembly Constituency for the Sixth Rajasthan Legislative Assembly and won.
Gulab Chand Kataria is also an Indian politician from the Bharatiya Janata Party. Because he has a long experience in politics. Gulab Chand Kataria contested 11 elections, out of which he has won nine. He has also been a member of the 9th Lok Sabha from Udaipur.
