Hoshiarpur Police bust International Drug racket, 7 held with heroin and drug money

A total of 11 people were named, and 7 were arrested.

Hoshiarpur Police has achieved a major success in the ongoing campaign against drugs. Police busted an international drug racket and seized 419 grams of heroin, drug money worth Rs 5.10 lakh, 2 country-made pistols and a Creta car.

Addressing a press conference at the local police line ground, SSP Sandeep Kumar Malik said that Hoshiarpur Police had registered 3 cases of drug smuggling and when the police pursued the investigation through various technical methods, it was found that the youth supplying drugs in Hoshiarpur or its surrounding areas were working under the command of Saurabh Jindal, who is based in the US.

When the police broke the chain of this case, a total of 7 drug smugglers have been arrested by the police so far and a total of 11 people have been booked in this case. He said that the main kingpin of the gang is Saurabh Jindal, who is currently living in the US, and Jassa Mohanwalia also lives abroad.

SSP Malik said that Akshay Chauhan alias Rocky used to send the money collected by supplying drugs to Saurav who is living abroad. While responding to questions from the media, SSP Malik said that while the police has succeeded in breaking the drug chain, a thorough investigation is also being conducted as to how the money was being sent abroad.

He said that in these three cases, the police have recovered a total of 419 grams of heroin, drug money worth Rs. 5 lakh 10 thousand, 2 country made pistols of 32 bore and 315 bore and a Creta car.
