Jalandhar West Bypoll: Over 1.71 lakh voters to cast vote at 181 polling stations tomorrow

Voting for the assembly constituency will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 7 am to 6 pm.

Jalandhar: Government schools, colleges and other educational institutions will remain closed situated in the Jalandhar West area of the district tomorrow due to the by-election in Jalandhar, Punjab.

This has been said in an order issued by Jalandhar DC cum Election Officer Himanshu Aggarwal. A holiday has been declared on Wednesday, July 10. This happened because the government officials of the district will be busy in conducting elections in the Jalandhar West constituency.

Big leaders campaigning for their respective parties have left the West constituency today. Voting for the assembly constituency will be held on Wednesday, July 10 from 7 am to 6 pm.

DC Aggarwal said that All the employees of the state government including government offices, boards, corporations and educational institutions, who are voters of the constituency, are entitled to this special leave.

Similarly, voters working in business, trade, industry, commercial and industrial establishments will be given leave with pay. There are a total of 1,71,963 voters in the constituency. These include 89,629 men and 82,326 women. A total of 181 polling stations have been set up.
