Mohali (Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar) will host the State Level National Voter’s Day Celebration on 25 January 2024 at Amity University. This information was disclosed by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Viraj Shyamkaran Tidke here today.
ADC presided over the preparatory meeting with various departments. Tidke said that this day reminds us of our greatest responsibility towards the world’s largest democracy by taking a pledge to exercise our right to vote. He said that as the Election Commission of India always emphasizes on maximum voter participation in the festival of democracy, so this program will convey their message to the voters as well. He said that apart from this important event, symbolic events will also be organized on the occasion of National Voter’s Day at school/college level and booth level.
He said that an awareness tractor and motorcycle rally will also be taken out from District Administrative Complex Mohali to Amity University via Airport Road in the morning on the same day. The state level event will be held from 10 am to 12 noon while the rally will be flagged off at 9:00 am.
ADC Viraj S Tidke further informed that poster making, slogan writing and speech competitions will also be conducted in the schools/colleges of the district before January 25 to connect the students with the important event of democracy and the winning students will be felicitated in the main event. .
Apart from this, the officers and BLOs who have shown good performance in the voter registration process (Special Summary Revision-2024) will also be felicitated by the Chief Electoral Officer of Punjab on that day.
