No relief from humidity and heat, IMD issues yellow alert for July 12

The maximum temperature has increased by 1.7 degrees over the previous day. 38-degree temperature was recorded in Gurdaspur.

After no rain in Punjab for the past few days, the heat as well as humidity levels have increased suddenly in all districts of the state. Meanwhile, there is no relief for the people from the humidity as IMD has made no prediction for rain today or tomorrow. People can expect a relief only after July 12 as IMD has predicted showers for Punjab on July 12.

Due to the slow pace of monsoon in Punjab heat and humidity have increased once again. Now the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert for rain on July 12.

Meanwhile, heavy rain is expected in three districts, Pathankot, Hoshiarpur and Gurdaspur. Along with this, the temperature has started to rise. Today the weather in Mohali has become milder since morning and it is raining lightly.


The maximum temperature has increased by 1.7 degrees over the previous day. 38-degree temperature was recorded in Gurdaspur. In this season, the risk of dengue and other diseases increases. In such a situation, people need to be more careful. During the last 24 hours in Punjab, the Meteorological Department has not recorded rain in any area except Bathinda.

0.5 mm of rain has fallen in Bathinda. While the temperature has crossed 35 degrees in almost all districts it is expected to increase today and tomorrow. Soon it may cross forty. However, it will rain in many districts today.
