Policeman involved in drug smuggling arrested in Mohali

Mohali: As Part of the Punjab government anti-drug campaign, Operation seal is being conducted across the state toda. The operation includes setting up interstate checkpoints for thorough inspections. In Zirakpur, Mohali, Police recovered one and a half Kilograms of hashish, with a police employee found to be involved in the case. The accused has been arrested.

SSP Deepak Parikh visited the Special Checkpoint and provided deatils about the campaign, emphasizing that it will continue throughout the day, and the administration is committed to taking strict action against drug abuse. He also confirmed the arrest of the police employee involved.

However, opposition parties have questioned the government’s actions, asking why no concrete steps were taken to tackle drug abuse in the past three years. They have labeled the campaign as mere theatrics. On the other hand, the government insists that this campaign is a significant step towards a drug free state.
