The people of Punjab have got relief from the slight drop in temperature after the rain on Wednesday night. This relief is expected to continue for the next few days. According to the Meteorological Center, an orange alert has been issued for rain and storm in Punjab today. At the same time, a yellow alert for rain in the state is also in force on Saturday.
According to the latest weather data, the average maximum temperature in the state has dropped by 0.3 degrees Celsius, but despite this it remains 3.1 degrees Celsius above normal. The highest temperature was recorded in Bathinda, where the temperature was 40.9 degrees Celsius. This is 2.4 degrees above normal.
Temperatures in many other districts were above normal
Amritsar: 37.2°C (2.9°C above normal)
Ludhiana: 38.9°C (3.1°C above normal)
Patiala: 39.8°C (4.1°C above normal)
Fatehgarh Sahib: 38.9°C (4.0°C above normal)
Mohali: 38.4°C (4.3°C above normal)
An alert has been issued in 13 districts of Punjab today regarding rain and storm. Orange alert has been issued for rain and storm in 8 districts Pathankot, Gurdaspur, Amritsar, Hoshiarpur, Rupnagar, SAS Nagar, Fatehgarh and Nawanshahr.
Along with this, yellow alert has been issued for rain and storm in 5 districts Tarn Taran, Kapurthala, Jalandhar, Ludhiana and Patiala. During this period, strong winds with a speed of 40 kmph are expected in Punjab.
