Monsoon has slowed down in Punjab these days. On Sunday, there was light rain in some districts, but it did not make much difference in the weather. There has been a slight drop of only 0.1 degrees in the temperature; that is, the heat remains the same.
However, the Meteorological Department has issued an alert on Monday morning that there is a possibility of moderate rain, lightning and strong winds at a speed of 30-40 kilometers per hour in Mansa, Barnala, Patiala, Fatehgarh Sahib, Mohali, Bathinda, Sri Muktsar Sahib, Faridkot, Rupnagar and Moga districts by 10 am.
In the last 24 hours, the highest temperature of 37.2 degrees was recorded in Sri Anandpur Sahib, while Ludhiana recorded 35 degrees, Patiala 36.2 degrees, Bathinda 35.4 degrees, Amritsar 30.8 degrees and Pathankot 30.2 degrees.
Talking about rain, till Sunday evening, 3.5 mm rain was recorded in Mohali, 2 mm in Amritsar, 1.5 mm in Moga, 1 mm in Pathankot and 0.4 mm in Patiala. That is, there was drizzle in some areas, but there was no significant relief from the heat.
Now, the monsoon in Punjab seems to be gradually slowing down. In the next week, the Meteorological Department has issued a yellow alert regarding rain only on July 16. But this alert is also limited to three districts of the state, Pathankot, Gurdaspur, and Hoshiarpur. At the same time, the weather is going to be normal in the state on July 16 and other days. The Meteorological Department will issue a flash alert regarding rain.
