Ravneet Bittu’s name in Modi cabinet from Punjab is final: will become Union Minister, Rajya Sabha is only way

There is discussion that former CM Captain Amarinder Singh's wife Preneet Kaur, former MP from Ludhiana Ravneet Bittu or Hardeep Puri can be included in the cabinet as Sikh faces.

Chandigarh: A new government is going to be formed in the country once again under the leadership of Narendra Modi. This time BJP has not got a single seat from Punjab in the Lok Sabha elections. Even in Rajya Sabha, there is no seat for BJP from Punjab. Despite this, there is talk of Ravneet Singh Bittu, who was the BJP candidate from Ludhiana, getting a place in the cabinet. Talking to the media about this, Bittu himself has confirmed to become a minister.

Ravneet Bittu thanked the BJP leaders while confirming that he would become a minister. He said that this is a big responsibility for me. Bittu said that the PM said that all MPs are the same.

At the same time, Hardeep Singh Puri, who was the BJP candidate from Amritsar in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, can be included in the cabinet as a Sikh face this time. Puri lost the 2019 election. After which he was sent to Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. It is believed that he can become a part of the cabinet even in 2024. But he will represent UP.

The post of minister was given even after losing to Punjab

Since 2014, Punjab has always been represented on ministerial posts in the Modi government. In 2014, Arun Jaitley had to face defeat from Amritsar. But he was made a Rajya Sabha member and made Finance Minister.

In 2019, Hardeep Puri again lost the election from Amritsar, but he was elected to the Rajya Sabha and given the post of minister. Apart from this, Vijay Sampala was also made the Union Minister of State in 2014. In 2019, Somprakash, MP from Hoshiarpur, was made Union Minister of State. Harsimrat Kaur Badal of Shiromani Akali Dal has also been a cabinet minister in 2019.

Ludhiana district president Rajnish Dhiman said that Ravneet Singh Bittu is getting a big responsibility. This time in the Lok Sabha elections, there are 50 to 60 such wards in the city where the BJP is leading. Today, Punjab needs leaders like Bittu to reach the center so that the state can develop.

According to sources, Ravneet Singh Bittu, who lost the Lok Sabha elections from Ludhiana, has received a call from PM Modi’s office and he may get a place in Modi 3.0. Bittu left the Congress and joined the BJP before the Lok Sabha elections, although Raja Warring defeated him from Ludhiana during the Lok Sabha elections.
