SIT confirms Interview of Jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi held in Punjab, Opposition besiege AAP govt

It is being said that interview was facilitated with the help of a signal app.

In a recent development that has caused uproar in the politics of Punjab, a report of SIT has divulged that one interview of a jailed gangster was conducted within the boundaries of Punjab. Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi is the prime accused in the murder case of slain singer Sidhu Moosewala.

In the report submitted to the Punjab and Haryana High court, it has been confirmed that the interview of Bishnoi was conducted within the boundaries of Punjab, when he was lodged in Bathinda Jail. It is being said that interview was facilitated with the help of a signal app.

It should be noted that High Court took strict note of the two interviews given by Lawrence Bishnoi. It is also being said that reportedly one of the two interviews was given from Rajasthan jail. SIT headed by Special DGP Human Rights Prabodh Kumar was given charge of the investigation in this matter.

As soon as the information came out, the Politics of Punjab heated up with the attacks of opposition on the ruling AAP and Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann.

Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal said “Another lie of AAP government exposed. Today in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, the SIT has made it clear that the interview of gangster Lawrence Bishnoi took place in the jail of Punjab. Chief Minister of Punjab, Home Minister Bhagwant Mann, and DGP Saab used to say that the interview took place outside Punjab.”

Calling CM Mann responsible for this, Sukhbir Badal said, Directly responsible for all this @BhagwantMann who is protecting the gangsters on one hand and on the other hand making fools of Punjabis by telling lies. Now when the truth comes out, Bhagwant Mann should resign on moral grounds. Punjabi is known by all.”

Congress President and Member of Parliament from Ludhiana Amarinder Singh Raja Warring too launched a scathing attack on AAP. He said “the people of Punjab demand an answer from Aap Aadmi. How is it possible for a gangster to give an interview from inside the prison? How can the public feel safe when murderers are given such freedom? We cannot expect justice for Sidhu Moosewala from such a government. Where the gangsters hold so much power over the administration. Law and order has badly deteriorated and dark days are coming for Punjab.”

Last year, the High Court had taken notice of Lawrence Bishnoi’s jail interview and ordered an investigation by forming an SIT of DGP Prabodh Kumar and AIG Dr S Rahul and Nilambari Jagdale.
