In a significant intelligence led operation, The Sri Muktsar Sahib Police has successfully dismantled a major drug network, recovering 10.5 kilograms of opium and Rs. 35,000 in drug proceeds.

The breakthrough came following the arrest of Raju, son of Balvir, who provided cruciasl leads that led to the discovery.

An FIR was registered at PS Sadar Malout on March 6, based on Raju’s information, which initially resulted in the seizure of 3.5 kg of Opium. The Police then conducted a high impact operation, tracing backward linkages within the network, leading to the recovery of an additional 7 kgs of Opium.

The authorities view this operation as a significant blow to the local drug trade and are continuing efforts to trace the full supply chain, aiming to apprehend key members of the network involved in trafficking.
