Tipper hits three youngsters to death in Ludhiana

A tipper full of garbage hit three bike riders near Dashmesh Dairy on Tajpur Road in Ludhiana, Punjab. Two youths died on the spot in this accident.

Ludhiana: Three youngsters, who were triple riding on a motorcycle, died after getting hit by a tipper at Tajpur Road in Ludhiana on Friday.

The incident occurred near Dashmesh Dairy at Tajpur Road at around 3.30pm when three youngsters were travelling on a motorcycle while coming from Tajpur Chowk side after playing holi.

After the accident, two youngsters died on the spot and a third youngster was also declared dead after he was rushed to Civil Hospital.

The three victims have been identified as Ankush (18) of Guru Nanak Estate Colony at Tajpur Road, Akashdeep (22) of Bhamian Kalan and Sunderam (23) of Bhamian Khurd.

After receiving the information, the police from Division number 7 police station rushed to the site and initiated investigation into the matter. After the police arrived, the one victim was already sent to Civil Hospital by the locals while two victims had died on the spot and the police took their bodies to the Civil Hospital for the postmortem.

Investigating Officer ASI Prem Chand said that the police have initiated investigation into the matter and the police are scanning the CCTV camera to ascertain how the accident actually took place. He said that the police are recording the statement of the victim’s family members to carry out further proceedings.
