Punjab desk: Vigilance Bureau has initiated the case against AIG Malwinder Singh Sidhu. Earlier he was arrested by Mohali police for assaulting the DSP (Vigilance) who was interrogating him regarding an ongoing case of disproportionate assets. Case of misconduct at the local vigilance office is also registered.
Vigilance bureau has initiated the case against AIG of police department. He has not been suspended yet from his post.
The AIG Sidhu has been booked under sections 353 (assault or criminal force to deter public servant from discharge of his duty), 186 (voluntarily obstructs any public servant in the discharge of his public functions), 323 (punishment for voluntarily causing hurt), 506 (criminal intimidation) of the (IPC) at following the complaint of victim DSP Barinder Gill.
