The Punjab Vigilance Bureau (VB) during its ongoing drive against corruption in the state, has apprehended ASI Jindal Lal posted as Police Post Incharge of Eldeco Estate, Police Station Salem Tabri, Ludhiana red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000/-.
The officer, who had joined the police force under the sports quota, had demanded the money in exchange for returning the motorcycle and mobile phone of an accused arrested in a drug-related case
Ludhiana: Acting against bribery, the Punjab Vigilance Bureau has arrested a government employee red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹5,000. The accused has been identified as Sarabjit Singh alias Bittu, a resident of New Deep Nagar, Chuharpur Road, Haibowal Kalan, Ludhiana. The Vigilance Bureau had received a complaint from Arminder Singh, a resident of Baba.
State Vigilance Bureau said that the said accused has been arrested based on a complaint filed by a resident of village Bakraha, Tehsil Patran, District Patiala.
Disclosing this here today, an official spokesperson of the state VB said the above-mentioned accused has been arrested based on a complaint lodged by a resident of Jaito tehsil district, Faridkot.
