War against drugs: Minister Harpal Cheema to hold meetings with officials of Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur and Pathankot

Chandigarh: In action against drugs in Punjab, the government has been working with a war footing approach to deal with drug menace in Punjab. As part of action, Cabinet Minister Harpal Singh Cheema will be holding crucial meetings with senior officers of various districts.

Harpal Singh Cheema, who is chairman of the high-level committee will be meeting senior officials of Tarn Taran, Gurdaspur, and Pathankot. The meeting is seen as part of action to accelerate the government’s war and strict stand against drugs.

Minister Cheema shared this information on his X handle. He also wrote that he would review the actions taken by the officials to curb drug abuse so far.

The Cabinet subcommittee is headed by Finance and Taxation Minister Harpal Singh Cheema. He will oversee measures taken by the police and health departments to tackle the drug problem and implement the de-addiction program. Apart from him, the committee includes New and Renewable Energy Minister Aman Arora, Health and Family Welfare Minister Balbir Singh, Transport Minister Laljit Singh Bhullar, and Rural Development and Panchayats Minister Tarunpreet Singh Sond.
