Under the Punjab government’s ‘Yudh Nashian Virudh’ campaign, the Municipal Corporation Jalandhar and Jalandhar Commissionerate Police have taken decisive action against a ongoing illegal construction activity by an infamous drug peddler, Rajan alias Nazar at Baba Budha Ji Nagar, in the Dakoha area.
Municipal and Police teams led by Assistant Town Planner Pooja Mann and ACP Central Nirmal Singh, an unauthorized structure in Baba Budha Ji Nagar under the jurisdiction of Nangalshama police station on Wednesday.
Divulging the details, ACP Nirmal Singh said that Rajan alias Nazar, a resident of Baba Budha Ji Nagar, had been involved in drug trafficking for a long time as having five FIRs registered against him under NDPS and Excise Act.
The ACP further revealed that the Police department had received information from Jalandhar Municipal Corporation regarding an illegal construction activity by the infamous drug peddler, subsequently, the construction has been demolished by Municipal Authority in the presence of Police force.
The ACP emphasized that this action aligns with the Punjab government’s zero-tolerance policy against drug peddlers, and such strict measures against them will continue. He urged the public to contribute to the fight against drugs by reporting drug-related activities to the police.
