Q1 Earnings, Crude Oil, FII Flows to Drive Indian Stock Market Next Week
July 5, 2026
Mumbai: The Indian stock market is expected to take cues from the start of the June quarter earnings season, global geopolitical developments, crude oil price movements, foreign investor activity and currency trends in the coming week.
Benchmark indices ended higher for the third consecutive session on Friday, with the Sensex rising 262 points to close at 77,763.91, while the Nifty gained 95 points to settle at 24,270.85, supported by gains in information technology and pharmaceutical stocks.
Q1 Earnings Season Begins
The June quarter earnings season will be the key focus for investors, with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) set to announce its Q1 FY27 results on July 9. The results are expected to provide the first indication of corporate performance for the new financial quarter.
Crude Oil, Global Events and FII Activity in Focus
Market participants will closely monitor crude oil prices and geopolitical developments, particularly in the Middle East, as any sharp movement in oil prices could impact inflation, corporate earnings and India’s import bill.
Foreign Institutional Investor (FII) activity will also remain under watch after foreign investors continued to offload Indian equities during the week.
Domestic Economic Indicators Support Sentiment
Investor sentiment has been supported by strong domestic macroeconomic indicators, including healthy GST collections, improving industrial activity and continued expansion in the manufacturing and services sectors.
Currency movement, particularly the rupee’s performance against the US dollar, will also remain an important factor influencing market direction in the coming week.
