Residents Nab Kidnapper After 12-Year-Old Girl Abducted in Ludhiana

Ludhiana, Punjab: In the New Shivaji Nagar area of ​​Ludhiana, Punjab, locals apprehended a man who had attempted to kidnap a 12-year-old girl. When he returned to drop the girl off, residents surrounded him and severely beat him before handing him over to the Shingar police station.

The accused has been identified as a resident of Meerut, Uttar Pradesh. Police are investigating the matter.

The victim’s father, a tailor by profession, said he and his wife were in Chandigarh at the time of the incident. He stated that around 2 AM, the accused lured his daughter into a car and drove towards Chandigarh Road.

Residents Caught Accused

Around 5 AM, when the accused returned to drop the girl off, residents of the neighbourhood caught him. The father also arrived at the scene around the same time.

The father revealed that the accused had lived near their house a few months ago and had been eyeing his daughter. He said that about two months ago, the accused had also attempted to abduct the girl, but locals had rescued her and chased the man away.

Victim’s Statement

The girl told police that three other people were also in the car with the accused. She said the accused was talking on the phone and saying, “Get rid of the previous consignment,” and that the girl could be taken away at any time.

Locals also recorded a video of themselves questioning the accused during the incident. The Shingar police station is seriously investigating the entire matter and searching for the other suspects.
