Flood Relief Drive ‘Sajha Prayas’ Launched in Amritsar, 6-Month Plan in Action

Amritsar: The administration has taken an important decision to provide relief to the flood-affected people. The district administration in Amritsar has started the “Sajha Prayas” scheme for the victims. Under the scheme, the affected people will be given help, and they will benefit from the help of social institutions and organisations. The administration has issued e-mess ID and appealed to the social organisations to cooperate in the scheme.

Deputy Commissioner Sakshi Sahni will lead

The district administration will work for relief and rehabilitation under the leadership of the district’s Deputy Commissioner, Sakshi Sahni. Those who have become homeless due to the floods will be provided help through donors and social organisations under the scheme. He said that Deputy Commissioner Amandeep Kaur has been appointed as the nodal officer for this campaign.

They will get a benefit

According to reports received during relief operations, many houses have been completely damaged. Their belongings have also been destroyed. Small businesses have also shut down. This campaign has been started to help such families. The administration, in collaboration with the Punjab government and other organisations, will make these affected families self-reliant again.

The plan will run for so many months

This scheme for relief and rehabilitation will run for 6 months. It will take about three to six months for the affected families to build houses and re-establish their business. For this, a special survey will be conducted after the flood water recedes. A detailed report will be prepared. The report will tell which person in which village needs help.

Appeal to social organizations
