Scrutiny of nominations for Panchayat Samiti and Zila Parishad polls done

The atmosphere is very tense regarding the Zila Parishad and Block Samiti elections in Punjab. The scrutiny of nominations has now been completed regarding the elections.

Let us tell you that voting has been announced on December 14 and counting of votes on December 17. Also, this time it has been announced to conduct voting through ballot paper boxes instead of EVMs and 50 per cent of seats have been declared for women.

Let us tell you that 1725 nominations have been found eligible for the Zila Parishad. While 140 nominations have been rejected. A total of 1865 nominations were filed for the Zila Parishad elections.

Apart from this, 11,089 nominations have been found eligible for the Panchayat Samiti. While 1265 nominations have been rejected. A total of 12354 nominations were filed for the Panchayat Samiti elections.
