Ludhiana: Today marks the final opportunity for citizens to participate in the first phase of the census through self-enumeration, which is being conducted online for the first time. Authorities have urged residents to complete the process before midnight to save both personal and administrative time.
Officials said the self-enumeration facility will remain open until 12:00 AM tonight. Beginning tomorrow, administrative staff will start door-to-door visits for offline house listing and data collection.
Citizens who have already completed self-enumeration will only need to provide their unique SE ID to survey staff during verification visits. Those who have not completed the online process will be required to answer 33 specific questions as part of the offline survey.
Self-Enumeration Process Takes Around 20 Minutes
According to officials, the self-enumeration process consists of nine simple steps and generally takes 15 to 20 minutes to complete.
Authorities stated that marking the exact home location on the digital map may take slightly longer than the other steps. In cases where a house does not appear in search results, users can manually mark their location using a nearby landmark.
The administration described the process as simple and user-friendly, encouraging more residents to participate before the deadline.
SE ID Important for Verification
After successfully completing all nine steps, users receive an 11-digit Self-Enumeration (SE) ID beginning with the letter βHβ.
Officials advised citizens to take a screenshot of the ID for future reference. The SE ID is also sent automatically through email and SMS to the registered mobile number.
Authorities said the ID will serve as proof of completed self-enumeration during door-to-door verification by census staff.
