A Self-Reliant India is the Path to Development : Banvir Singh

At a book launch ceremony held at Keshav Bhawan, RSS Northern Region Pracharak Chief Banvir Singh emphasized the importance of reconnecting with one’s roots, culture, and mother tongue, stating that many of society’s present-day problems stem from forgetting the concept of ‘Swa’ one’s true self and identity.

Addressing the gathering during the release of the Punjabi translation of the book “Swa se Sakshatkar”, Banvir Singh said that true development and progress are only possible when individuals recognize their own identity and fundamental nature.

He asserted that a ‘Swa’-centric India would pave the way for holistic national growth and urged people to remain connected to their traditions and languages.

Highlighting the role of mother tongues in preserving cultural identity, he appealed to people to converse in their native languages and at least ensure their use within homes. The book features speeches on the concept of ‘Swa’ delivered by RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat, All India Sah-Sarkaryavah Arun Kumar, National Convener of Pragya Pravah J Nandakumar, and Banvir Singh himself.

The Punjabi translation was undertaken by the Sampark Vibhag of Vidya Bharati Punjab. The event was presided over by Sandeep Dhuria, who encouraged the youth to embrace modernity while cautioning against becoming overly influenced by Western ideologies.

Retired IAS officer Nirmaljit Singh Kalsi attended the event as the Chief Guest. He stressed that while scientific and technological advancement is essential, society must not lose touch with its culture and roots in the race toward Westernization.

Several prominent personalities and intellectuals were present at the event, including retired IPS officer Manmohan Singh, Gaurav Tandon, retired Joint Director of Punjab Finance Department Prem Sharma, along with Ramesh Arora and Praveen Gupta from the Sampark Vibhag.
