Mumbai, August 4: On the first trading day of the week today, i.e., Monday, August 4, the Sensex is trading 250 points higher at 80,850. Nifty is also up 80 points, it is at the 24,650 level.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 21 are up and 9 are down. Shares of BEL, Bajaj Finserv, and Tata Steel are up 1.4%. Shares of Infosys and Zomato have fallen.
Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 40 are up and 10 are down. NSE’s auto, metal, and banking indices have risen. IT and realty have seen a slight decline.
Mixed trading in Asian markets, a decline in the US
•In Asian markets, Japan’s Nikkei is trading 1.63% down at 40,134 and Korea’s Kospi is trading 0.77% up at 3,143.
•Hong Kong’s Hang Seng index was up 0.43% at 24,614, while China’s Shanghai Composite was up 0.20% at 3,567.
•On July 31, America’s Dow Jones closed down 1.23% at 43,589. Meanwhile, the Nasdaq Composite closed down 2.24% at 20,650 and the S&P 500 closed down 1.60% at 6,238.
FIIs sold shares worth Rs 3,366 crore on August 1
There was a fall of 586 points in the market on Friday
The stock market fluctuated on Friday, the first trading day of August. The Sensex fell 586 points and closed at 80,600. The Nifty also fell 203 points and closed at 24,565.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 6 stocks rose and 24 fell. Sun Pharma’s stock fell by 4.43%. A total of 18 stocks including Tata Steel and Tata Motors fell by 1% to 4.5%. Asian Paints, Trent and HUL rose by 3%.
Out of the 50 stocks of Nifty, 11 rose and 39 fell. NSE’s pharma fell 3.33%, healthcare 2.77%, metal 1.97%, IT 1.85%, realty 1.78%, PSU bank 1.13%. Auto, metal and metal also fell.
