Mumbai, August 12: On the second trading day of the week, Tuesday, August 12, the market witnessed a fluctuation of about 850 points. The Sensex fell 368 points and closed at 80,236. The Nifty also fell 98 points and closed at 24,487.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 13 rose and 17 fell. Maruti’s stock rose more than 2%. Tech Mahindra, M&M and NTPC stocks also rose. Bajaj Finance stock fell 3%. Apart from this, shares of Trent, Hindustan Unilever, HDFC Bank and Zomato fell by 1.4%.
Out of the 50 stocks of Nifty, 17 rose and 33 fell. NSE’s metal, pharma, IT and media indices rose. On the other hand, FMCG, banking and realty indices closed with a fall.

On the first trading day of the week, Monday, August 11, the Sensex rose 746 points to close at 80,604. Nifty also rose 222 points to close at 24,585.
Out of the 30 Sensex stocks, 26 rose and 4 fell. Shares of Tata Motors, Trent, Zomato and SBI rose up to 3.2%. ICICI Bank, Airtel and BEL fell marginally.
Out of the 50 Nifty stocks, 44 rose and 6 fell. NSE’s PSU banking index rose the most by 2.2%. Apart from this, realty rose by 1.86%, healthcare by 1.17%, auto by 1.06%, pharma by 0.95% and private bank by 0.81%.
