Amritsar: The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) is holding a major Panthic gathering at Manji Sahib within the Golden Temple complex on Sunday to discuss an allegedly controversial video involving Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and to formulate a future course of action.

The meeting, scheduled for 11 a.m., has drawn participation from various Sikh religious and Panthic organisations, including Taksals, Nihang Singh groups, Kar Seva bodies, Nirmala sect members, Singh Sabhas, and other Sikh organisations.

SGPC Calls Meeting Amid Community Concern

SGPC Chief Secretary Kulwant Singh Mann said there is deep resentment within sections of the Sikh community regarding the alleged video, prompting the decision to convene the gathering.

He added that the Sangat was requested to arrive by 10:30 a.m. so the proceedings could begin on time. The SGPC has made extensive arrangements, including parking facilities, transport services within the complex, multiple stages, and chhabeels (water stalls) for attendees.

CM Bhagwant Mann Denies Allegations

The controversy relates to an alleged video circulating on social media, which has triggered political reactions and demands for clarification. However, Punjab CM Bhagwant Mann has denied the claims associated with the video, calling them misleading and politically motivated.

His office has maintained that attempts are being made to tarnish his image, while supporters have dismissed the controversy as baseless.

Panthic Bodies to Decide Next Course

The SGPC said the gathering aims to deliberate on the issue and decide the next steps collectively. With participation from several Sikh organisations, the meeting is expected to outline a unified response regarding the controversy and its implications.
