Minor Rescued from Sharda Ghat by Water Police Team

Champawat, April 14: While bathing at Sharda Ghat, a minor ventured into deep water and began to drown. Acting swiftly, the Water Police rescued him safely, thereby averting a major tragedy.

The incident occurred amidst devotees who had arrived for ‘Darshan’ (worship) of Goddess Purnagiri. 17-year-old Nikhil son of the late Shri Pal and a resident of Simra village in the Bareilly district (Uttar Pradesh) was bathing at the banks of the Sharda River. Misjudging the depth, he got caught in the strong current and began to sink.

Upon receiving the information, the Water Police team immediately rushed to the scene. Head Constables Rakesh Giri and Anil Kumar, Constables Satish Singh, Deep Chandra, and Mukesh Rana, Diver Ravindra Kumar and PRD personnel Suraj Sharma launched an immediate rescue operation.

The team successfully pulled the teenager out of the deep water to safety. This prompt action prevented a potential tragedy. Locals and devotees alike lauded the Water Police for this rescue effort.
