Government’s special campaign for Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s Prakash Parv; 50 publicity vans to screen documentary

The Punjab government has launched a special awareness campaign to disseminate the life, thoughts, and teachings of Sri Guru Ravidas Maharaj to the public in honor of his 650th Prakash Parv (birth anniversary). Under this campaign, 50 publicity vans will be deployed across Punjab. Through these vans, a documentary based on the life and message of Guru Ravidas Maharaj will be screened for people in both villages and cities.

The campaign kicked off in Amritsar on Tuesday. Public Works Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO flagged off the publicity vans from the Deputy Commissioner’s office. Speaking on the occasion, he stated that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the government aims to take Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s message of equality, brotherhood, and humanity to as many people as possible.

Documentary to be screened in villages and cities

Minister Harbhajan Singh informed that the publicity vans would travel to various districts, towns, and villages across Punjab. A documentary lasting approximately 30 minutes will be screened from these vans. Through this documentary, people—especially the youth—will be informed about Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s life, his philosophy, and his contributions to society. The Punjab government believes that this campaign will provide the younger generation with an opportunity to draw inspiration from Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s teachings and follow the path shown by him.

6.5 lakh saplings to be planted for the 650th Prakash Parv

Harbhajan Singh ETO stated that a massive tree plantation drive would also be conducted across Punjab to mark the 650th Prakash Parv of Guru Ravidas Maharaj. Under this initiative, approximately 6.5 lakh saplings will be planted throughout the state. The programs associated with the Prakash Parv are not being limited to religious events alone; themes of social awareness and environmental conservation have also been integrated into the celebrations.

Several special events to be held in Amritsar

According to Minister Harbhajan, several events will be organized in Amritsar to mark the Prakash Parv. These include a marathon, a cycle rally, and a drone show. Prior to this, a grand Kirtan Darbar (devotional music gathering) has already been organized in Amritsar. A grand Nagar Kirtan (religious procession) will also set out from Jammu in the coming days. This procession will travel via Amritsar and become part of the Prakash Parv (birth anniversary) celebrations.

Outreach vans reached various locations on the very first day

On the first day of the campaign itself, outreach vans were dispatched to several areas, including Amritsar, Baba Bakala Sahib, and Ajnala. In the coming days, these vans will also reach other districts and rural areas of Punjab. The Punjab government aims to ensure that information regarding the life and teachings of Guru Ravidas Maharaj is not confined to major cities but also reaches people living in villages and remote areas.

Effort to take the message of equality and brotherhood to every household

According to the Punjab government, the primary objective of this entire campaign is to convey Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s message of humanity, equality, social brotherhood, and communal harmony to the masses. Efforts are being made to connect people with his philosophy through documentaries and other programs. The Punjab government states that these events, organized to mark the 650th *Prakash Parv*, will help transmit Guru Ravidas Maharaj’s teachings to the new generation and strengthen the spirit of unity and brotherhood within society.
