    Supreme Court Collegium Recommends Four Judges As Chief Justices Of High Courts

    New Delhi: The Supreme Court Collegium, in its meeting held on August 6, 2026, recommended the elevation of four judges as Chief Justices of different High Courts.

    According to the statement issued by the Supreme Court, the Collegium recommended the following appointments:

    Four Judges Recommended For Chief Justice Posts

    • Justice V. Kameswar Rao, currently serving in the Delhi High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Patna High Court.
    • Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge, currently serving in the Bombay High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court.
    • Justice Mahesh Chandra Tripathi, currently serving in the Allahabad High Court, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court.
    • Justice Ashwani Kumar Mishra, currently serving in the Punjab and Haryana High Court, with his parent High Court being Allahabad, has been recommended as the Chief Justice of the Punjab and Haryana High Court.
