Chandigarh: Bus travel has become more expensive in Punjab as the bus fare has been doubled from 23 paise to 46 paise per kilometer. The Transport Department has issued a notification about this increase, effective from Sunday. In a recent cabinet meeting, it was decided to raise the VAT on petrol and diesel by 92.
