Today, on January 6, the first trading day of the week, the Sensex is trading at 78,090 with a decline of more than 1100 points. Nifty is also down by 360 points, it is trading at 23,640. Out of 30 Sensex stocks, 29 are down and 1 is up. Out of 50 Nifty stocks, 48.
Indian equity indices were in an uptrend on Thursday following strong domestic cues. At 1:00 p.m., Sensex was up 800 points, or 1.08 per cent at 75,023 and Nifty was up 246 points, or 1.09 per cent, at 22,843 points.
