Tarntaran: Three car occupants flee after firing at police, two identified

Three persons fled after firing on the police patrolling the border area late night. The police have registered a case in Valtoha police station while two accused have also been identified.

DSP Preetinder Singh said that the police station head Inspector Manjit Singh was returning from a search operation in the border area.

Meanwhile, he saw the movement of two suspicious cars near village Cheema Khurd and tried to check them, one of which started firing at the police with an illegal weapon. In response, the police also fired shots but the said people escaped taking advantage of the darkness.

The shooter has been identified as Simranjit Singh resident of Valtoha and his accomplice Surjit Singh resident of Kalanjar Uttar, while efforts are also being made to identify the third unknown person. He said that the three accused will be arrested soon.
